Here are a few photos of the Afghans that
live with us. All of our dogs are
house dogs and are dearly loved and cherished.
"Jazz"
August 20, 1991 - March 4, 2006

Multi SBIS Ch. Spectrums Iceworks V Samos
(Ch. Spectrums Icebreaker x Ch. Spectrum's Neat 'N
Natural)
"Jazz" has won 16 Best of Breeds, 10 Group Placements over an 18 month period at
the age of 8 years, plus 2 Specialties, all with limited showing.
He won
specialties under breeder judges David Frei and Doug Gaudin.
He placed Group1st twice under Edgar Bajona,and a Group 2nd under
Mr. Jochen Eberhardt of Germany. "Jazz" last official show was to compete
in the Veterans Class at the Afghan Hound Club of Canada
National Specialty in July 2001. He won Best Veteran in Specialty at
10 years of age. In October 2001 he was entered in a "Golden Age Classic"
for veteran dogs and with a field of 43 entrants and from the 10 and over class,
took home the"Best in Classic" ribbon.
In the summer of 2004 Jazz, at the age of 13, was entered
in a Specialty
"Parade". A young Junior Handler
took him into the Jr. Handling competition
and Jazz and nine year old Michelle came in
Second Overall.
Not too bad for an "Old Man".
Jazz last show event was in the summer of 2005 where, pictured below, he was
entered in the Parade of Veterans class at the Metro Valley Afghan Hound
Asscoiation Specialty under Mrs. Abby Shaw.
Jazz, unfortunately, sucumbed to his age and on March 4th, 2006, crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

"Portia" an elegant feminine bitch obtained her championship at 15 months and
has had very limited showing since that time.
But oooh can she produce beautiful puppies!!

Shooter has been shown on and off for the past number of years with great success

Shown sparingly as he awaits maturity, he has several Group placements.

"Maddie" greatest accomplishment to date was winning
the Afghan Hound Club of Canada 1998 National Specialty
at 22 months old under breeder judge June Boone.

Complete!!!"
The puppies started their Show
careers on September 23/00. The first
to complete his Canadian title was "Donovan" in February 2001 and the last one
finished in March 2002.
The photos that follow are some of their recent wins.

"Donovan"
(Spectrum's Ace of Spades x Ch. Spectrum's Portia of Samos)
Donovan if the first of the Spring 2000 litter to attain his Canadian title. He will now
take some time to go south and compete for his American title.
Donovan was awarded the Afghan Hound Club of Canada
"Top Puppy for 2000 Award"
He was also awarded the Vancouver Island Afghan Hound
Top Puppy Award for 2001
 
Ch. Procyon's Crescendo V Spectrum
"Jordan"
(Spectrum's Ace of Spades x Ch. Spectrum's Portia of Samos)
Jordan was only a few weeks behind his brother in completing his Championship.
He finished by winning the Breed over Specials from the classes and taking a Group 4th.
We are very proud of this young man and he will join his brother Donovan
and head south to work on his American championship.


Procyon's Arpeggio V Spectrum
"Nikita"
(Spectrum's Ace of Spades x Ch. Spectrum's
Portia of Samos)
"Nikita" completed the
requirements for his championship in June 2001.
He is the third boy we have finished from the litter. Nikita has gone on
to excel at Agility and Lure Coursing, He is now only a few points shy of his Field
Championship.

"Delaney"
(Spectrum's Ace of Spades x Ch. Spectrum's
Portia of Samos)
"Delaney" is the last of the
males in the litter to finish his title.
Emergency surgery as a young puppy set back the start of his show career.
In July 2001 he was entered in a Hound Weekend, three Specialties in three days.
On his very first day and his very first show he went Best Opposite
in Sweepstake under Marilyn Domhoff at the Vancouver Island Afghan Hound Association.
The next day at the Western Gazehound Club specialty
he won the Yearling Sweepstake under Tony Galiano and went
Reserve Winners Dog under Ramon Podesta.
The day following at the Afghan Hound Club of Canada National Specialty he again won
the Yearling Sweepstake under Gail Mofford.
At his next show, two weeks later at the Oceanside Kennel Club show, "Delaney"
won the Breed and went Group 2 all three days, and finishing his title that
weekend
under breeder judge Larry Kereluke. Since then his career has soared, with 45 BOB, 8 Gr.
1st, 9 Gr 2nd, 3 Gr 3rd, and 4 Gr 4th as well as 2 Specialty BIS

"Selena"

Portia of Samos)
"Selena" was the last of the girls to jump into the
ring the second to earn her title.

"Gia" known affectionately by her owner as "Princess" finished her
championship
under Edna Perks with a Best of Opposite. Now if we can teach
"Miss Perpetual Motion" to stand still....
